How it works
I realise it may be daunting to take that first step to contacting a counsellor, so I’d like to explain a bit about how it works.
You can fill in my Contact form, phone, text or email me with your enquiry. Those details are at the bottom of this page. If I don’t answer your call, I have an answer phone facility and will get back to you. I’m usually pretty quick to respond to any of those means of contact but I aim to certainly get back to you within three working days.
I offer a phone or online conversation first that usually takes around 10 to 20 minutes. It’s your chance to hear my voice, tell me what you’re looking for and find out a bit more about how I work. You’ll be able to ask any questions you have and we can discuss the practicalities of potential appointment times and whether you want to work with me outdoors, in a therapy room or online.
You can then book a first appointment or have some time to think about it and come back to me if you wish to book in. If you do book an appointment, I’ll send you a copy of my counselling agreement to take a look at and we’ll run through it on the first appointment. It sets out details around things like confidentiality, missed or cancelled appointments and contact outside appointments.
I mainly work with clients on Tuesday mornings or on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Sessions last for 50 minutes and cost £45 per session. I currently have one session a week available at £35 to help someone on a low income access counselling - let me know when we talk if this applies to you.
